Installing Stairs Step By Step

Installing stairs is easy. However, you should know the proper way to set up your stair. This is because faulty installation could cause accidents.
Bear in mind the structural anatomy of a stair. These are the stringer, treads and risers. Each of these parts has their functions in the stairs.
The stringer works like the foundation of treads and the risers. This functions as the support for the two. Riser is the part of the stair that we step in.
Tread is the supporting block in between each risers. The factors to consider in building your stair is the vertical height of your stair. You can also consider the weight of the people who will be using the stair.
The first step is to measure your stairs. Find the vertical height that the stair has to cover. This includes measuring the riser and the treads as well.
It will be better if the stair has spacious width. As soon as you determine the measurement of the riser and the treads, you can already work on your stringer. Cut the wood that will function as your stringer.
The measurement should be according to the size of the riser and the treads. Make sure the measurements are even. The stringer should be level.
Once you are sure that the stringer in on solid ground, we can work on your treads.
Fasten your treads. Start from the bottom part of the stringer. Once the treads is securely fasted and nailed, fasten the riser just above the treads.
Repeat the process until you fill all the open steps for the riser and the treads. Once it is filled out, you already have your stairs.
This installation is applicable for wooden stairs. You can set up a carpet if you want one. However, that will be another process. If you will be putting a carpet, you should cover only the risers and the treads.
Another alternative is to paint your stairs. Make sure you blend the color of your stairs to your house. The usual paint color is brown or any similar colors. This is especially when this is a wood installation.
Installing stairs is easy. However, make sure that the foundation is fully supported. On this situation, it is the stringer.
Make sure the stringer extensions are flawless and perfectly fasten to the main support. Again, faulty installation may cause unwarranted accidents.
Once every corner is build and well supported, you now have your stairs. Anyone could actually do it. There is no need for an expert to build your stairs.
You now have the basics for installing stairs. You can already start yours.
