Pet Stairs

If you are like most loving pet owners, you’re well aware that sometimes we have to make a few adjustments here and there to ensure our furry friends are as comfortable as possible. One of these such adjustments could mean installing or buying a set of pet stairs. Here are just some of the reasons pet stairs might be a welcome addition in your home.

If you have a small dog or cat, but large steps leading in and out of your house, you know that sometimes, particularly with older pets, these larger sets of stairs can pose a common, but easily rectifiable situation.

With wide or steep steps, even a quick trip to the backyard can be difficult for your dog or cat. A simple solution is to install a smaller set of pet stairs that will run parallel with your existing steps. These steps can be done in the exact same style as the larger set, matching the exterior décor of your home perfectly.

The same can also be said about the interior of the home. If you live in a multi-level house and have small, or aging pets who have difficulty navigating the existing staircases, you may want to consider the same solution.

If the stairs are wide enough and situated up against a wall, it’s possible to build a set of smaller pet stairs right up against that wall, blending in with whatever style is used. After showing your pet their new stairs once or twice, they’ll soon learn that they are for them to get up and down the steps easier.

The best part about pet stairs, besides making life so much easier for your small dog or cat, is that they aren’t expensive to install. A professional contractor will be able to tell the best placement for the steps, or at least offer their recommendations on how to do so yourself.

Also, there are numerous sites online for learning easy ways of installing a set of pet stairs yourself. Additionally, your local home improvement store should also have plenty of ideas and resources on the subject.
